TeAw (Time to Empower African Women) is a group of talented women based in Tanzania who create beautiful handmade products while supporting one another through meaningful work and shared opportunity.
Our Story
Many of the women in our group face challenges finding stable employment, despite having exceptional sewing, crafting and design skills. TeAw was created to provide opportunities, empowerment and hope through meaningful work enabling us to feed our families and supporting others through our income.
Our group consists of 22 widows, along with several other women from our community who need support and income opportunities. Although we work from our own homes, we come together regularly to share ideas, complete larger projects, and encourage one another.
What started as a small community initiative has grown into a network of skilled artisans creating quality handmade products for customers locally and internationally. When you support us through buying our items it touches a lot of lives.
God placed a burden on my heart to help people in three ways: spiritually, physically, and mentally. Through TEAW, we strive to make a difference by creating opportunities for women, supporting families, and encouraging the next generation with strong values and faith. We are passionate about teaching and inspiring children, helping them grow into a positive and responsible generation guided by God's Word.
Every order we receive helps support women and their families, while preserving valuable handmade craftsmanship. We offer than 25 individuals with different skills and items so if you have a design idea we can look at picture and make the same. Pricing will depend on the materials we need to use.
We believe that when women are empowered, entire communities can thrive.

We are building a small shop in the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania. Most of our customers are from other countries, so we send our products worldwide using DHL. Shipping costs are paid by the customer.
